"Vacationland" Real-live Beach Day Video

Sunday, July 10, 2011, 10:34 a.m. EST, 80 degrees F

It took forever, but we finally got one: a real-live beach day! On days like this Maine earns it’s nickname Vacationland! (Sorry for the car traffic sounds; the bridge overlook was busy today so we couldn’t avoid it in the background like we usually do.)

And meanwhile in the garden…

Black-eyed Susans (Rudbeckia hirta) with Coreopsis in the background

Now you’re just rubbing it in. What are you doing up on the road when you should be down on the beach with a blanket, a good book and an ice cold beverage?

  2. Christine, well, when you live in Vacationland, there are certain things to be endured — like lovely weather for about a month! As for me on a beach? Very very rarely unless I’m walking on a rather remote one! (Not a fan of crowds — although this one wasn’t *so* bad!)

  3. Erika Marks says:

Oh, how I’m missing it all over again, Julia! But how lucky am I that I get to enjoy it through your posts and videos and pictures year-round!

  4. Leah says:

Looks like a lovely day in Maine! And I love black-eyed susans. I’ve saved your photo as my screensaver for the week. Love your Sunday posts!

  5. Ann says:

The beach looks beautiful! My kind of day – bright and sunny! I LOVE the garden pictures! So nice to see it grow along with you!

  6. Mari Carmen says:

Really beautiful that beach! And the garden… well, I love gardens a lot. Your picture is lovely.

  7. Erika, so glad I can give you Maine year round!

Leah, What a lovely compliment to use my photo for a screensaver! (Look for a post soon about black-eyed susans and my grandmother) Glad you enjoy my Sunday posts!

Ann, Me? I prefer the foggy beach days, believe it or not! But more than that, I love watching it change through the seasons!

Mari, Thank you so much for the comment & your visit to my blog! I’m glad you enjoyed the beach video and the garden pic, too! Nice to meet you!

  8. That is lovely! You get the best of all possible worlds with the fog and the sun. 🙂

  9. Mahesh, Thanks for your comment and your visit to my blog! I agree that it’s a great combination of fog and sun — although it becomes a little muggy at times! Thanks again for the lovely comment!
